DIY Body Scrub

Don’t you just love a good DIY? This girl does. Whenever I have a chance to get crafty, I get crafty.

I’ve been using this scrub on my body and my face for the last few months and I LOVE it. It makes my skin feel so silkayyyyy. There are so many benefits to making your essentials at home. One big one, it’s CHEAP. Yes, the entail purchase might seem expensive, but you’ll get all your pennies worth. One bottle usually lasts me about a month depending on how frequently I use it. From each batch, I can make about 6 8oz bottles!!

Now, if you didn’t realize my love for coconut oil before, you will now, but I have something else to rave about. Green tea! Just like coconut oil, I’m sure you’ve heard about the health benefits. Green tea is packed with antioxidants, it’s great for brain function, weight loss, and it can help with your puffy morning eyes! I know, right! Maybe we’ll do this for our next DIY?! But seriously, I try to drink it as much as I can.

This scrub is super easy to make with only four ingredients: coconut oil, green tea, honey, and brown sugar. You don’t need a food processor if you don’t have one, a spoon works just fine. Melt down the coconut oil but don’t melt it too much. I think 10 – 15 seconds in the microwave or atop a pot of boiling hot water is the perfect amount of time to soften your coconut oil which will make it even easier to mix in with the other ingredients. Once all your ingredients are mixed together store it in an airtight container. I bought these mason jars right at my local Giant Eagle! I think they were around $10 - $12 for eight jars. This scrub will last anywhere from a week to a month depending on how often you use it and where you use it. Keep at room temp so your coconut oil doesn’t separate, but if it does just mix it around before you apply!

SOOOOOOOO EASYYYY IT’S STUPID…but so great.

Ingredients:

6 tbsp. Refined Coconut Oil

10 packets of Green Tea (I use Salada)
