The When I Get Home Project

We, Ashley & Justin, have something we need to share!

We’ve had this dream for a very long time. We want something more from our lives, we want to do something that sparks a passion and a drive within our souls (as you saw in our first blog post!) Back in October we created When I Get Home Boutique, a small craft shop on Etsy where we could get away from our 9 to 5 and be creative. The name, When I Get Home, came from a Beatle’s song, which Ashley is obsessed with, but that’s for another time and another day. The name brought something out of us we had been searching for a long time. The name symbolized freedom, an exhale, a calming sensation you finally get after a long trip of being away from home, and when you finally get home you just want to crash on the couch and take the longest nap everrrrrrrr. When we made that shop, we did it. We finally did something WE wanted to do.

Our big news: The When I Get Home Project!

The more we connect and the longer we leave the connection open, the more we both see our lives transforming. We’re ready to take on the challenge of my lifetime: merge the “everyday us” with our inner artist, traveler, and writer. Personal growth is playing the biggest part in Ashley & Justin Create, and while we are unsure where exactly this is project is going to take us, we do know every time we connect with our inner selves, art is made and people seem to react to it in a positive way. As we shared in the beginning, we want to help people and we want to see the world. The When I Get Home Project is just that.

The When I Get Home Project is all about connecting with people just like us. We want to start in America and dig out every hiding artist we can find, see their passions, and create a movement which has been firing up our bellies for years. We want to start in our home towns, Cleveland and Louisville, travel through the East Coast, down through the south, scurry through the West, and make our ways back home. The last two places will be Alaska and Hawaii, which we plan to make our last. We plan to share these artists and their stories through this blog and social media accounts, while also crossing off items from our bucket list. We have a voice and it’s starting with this trip.

What we need are companies and artists who feed on this excitement like us. We want to connect with like-minded individuals who hear the voice we are creating. Not too long ago, it seemed, we started dreaming up road trips and journeys to far corners of the world. Then, it was mostly dreaming up impossible options. Now, when we think of walking on the Great wall of China or gazing at Big Ben, we are planning for the near future. The desire to travel became part of The When I Get Home Project. The question is who are you? What do you want to do with your life? Do you see something bigger than yourself? If you are just like us, we want to work with you. Help us make The When I Get Home Project the greatest one yet.

We want to see the 50 states and we want to see the beautiful people hiding in them.

Let’s connect!

XoXo

Ash & Justin
